Southwest Airlines - Cancelled flight
I was booked to fly fr Washington Reagan to Austin TX on July 30 2016. Because of thunderstorms in the area the flight was delayed 2 hrs before we were boarded.
After sitting in the plane for a further 2 hrs, we were asked to disembark. an hour later, we were put back on the plane, which then taxied towards the runway, then came back to the gate whereupon the captain announced he had gone beyond his time limit for working - why he didn't realize this was going to happen I don't know! after coming off the plane for the 2nd time, we were informed the flight was being cancelled and as it was weather-related, Southwest was not liable for any hotel/taxi etc costs. There were no seats available going to Austin for 2 days; but I was lucky enough to find an AA flight from Dulles the following day.
That flight cost over $500, my hotel &130, taxis $100 plus meals; so it cost me around $800 to get home a day late.
As the captain announced he was "timed out," how can this be counted as a weather cancellation?! I would greatly appreciate some form of refund or compensation
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Monetary Loss: $800.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
Southwest Airlines Pros: Bags fly free.
Location: Austin, Texas

I'm guessing he didn't time out while you were on the ground. However considering weather it is possible had the flight left the ground he would have in fact timed out before he got you to your destination.
Luckily for the airline, weather was a factor in their decision.
