Family emergency forced me to miss outgoing flight. SW automatically cancelled return flight and refused refund!!!!!

Customer service with them is a joke! I wasn't even scheduled for return flight and lost entire fare. I have routinely traveled with them on business for 20+ years. NEVER AGAIN!!!

They may offer lower fairs but the customer service is nonexistent.

I would rather pay more money and not be treated as a joke. BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH YOU ARE NOT WORTH 100 WORDS IN THIS REVIEW

I fly SW all the time. This is clearly stated when you purchase a ticket.

Miss your outbound, they cancel the inbound unless you advise not to. They want to sell that seat to someone else and are assuming if you didn't go you won't be coming back. Pretty logical assumption.

If you are going to miss a flight for ANY reason, it is YOUR responsibility to call the airline and let them know what is going on. If you had, they could have kept the other flight.

"W automatically cancelled return flight and refused refund!!!!!"

How did they automatically cancel a flight because of a family emergency?

Were the scanning the air waves and the cloud to learn you were going through something and just cancelled the flight?

Or did you get in touch with them, tell them what was up and thought you could get a refund for that which is not refundable based on your emergency?

Did you buy a non-refundable ticket?

Did you forget you agreed to this when you said you understood their terms of service?

Not sure how this complaintant could make it any clearer or more more obvious – she missed the outbound flight, and Southwest automatically cancelled the inbound flight.
