We planned ahead to drive from Cleveland to Pittsburgh, stay overnight and fly out 12/17 morning to MCO in plenty of time to board a cruise. Pitt cancelled the flight but said if we came night of 12/16 we could fly on last plane out.
We were assured it was going. We scrambled and drove like bats out of *** and made it to Pitt airport, turned in rental car and went to ticketing to drop luggage. They cancelled that flight while we were in the ***! Trying both a live agent and on the phine to SWA to get alternative...we wanted BWI or DC but the agent assured us Columbus OHIO was the best plan.
We were booked on first flight to MCO. We rented a car and drove all night to Columbus...we checked in and got boarding group C. We check out bags and the flight looked good to go. But then they announced the plane was a smaller model than originally planned and those from c31 to 50 did not have seats even though we had boarding passes!!!!!!!
They tried to ask for volunteers so that people like us trying to get to cruise ports could go, but no one budged. SWA could do nothing for us to get us to Florida in time. They even refused to get our baggage so we could put back on winter clothes and travel back to our home up north. We missed our cruise.
Vacation plans ruined. Non refundable. Really awful. I want to know this: Why would SWA book a certain number of people, issue boarding passes and send the wrong size plane?!
The plane in Pittsburgh yesterday night was a repositioning trip so there was no crew, just the pilots so they couldn't allow passengers!!! Why would SWA book us and a planeload of others on a flight that was NOT a flight?!
