Southwest Airlines - Seating issues
It may be time Southwest starts assigning seats. My wife was in the late A group coming out of Sacramento.
When she got on the plane she ended up halfway back due to the people reserving ROWS for family members. We have had this happen before where one member of a group pays early bird and then "reserves" seats for all the members of the group that did not get early bird.
When we have asked flight attendants they say there is no reserving of seats. All I can say is that sometime in the future this may lead to a major confrontation between passengers when someone takes the seat anyway and tells the other person they can't reserve seats.
Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.

Southwest says they have no policy for or against seat saving. Also they say they have no plans to ever change it.even with all the complaints.
Is this the best you can do? Whine online about how unfair the saving seats thing is?
Tell them to pony up $15.00 in cash(or accept PayPal) or you're sitting down. It's that simple...
Act like you have a spine.... Oh and if you feel this bad about it, contact the airline not a message board....
Uncalled for comment. Crawl back under your bridge troll.
The OP clearly stated that they thought MAYBE it was time Southwest should have a seating policy to avoid possible confrontations. I agree.....it could be an issue if you get an angry passenger sometime who wants to duke it out over seats.
Southwest has no rule for or against seat saving.
I think the commenter knows this....they are stating that Southwest SHOULD have a rule regarding instead asking customers to be aggressive to get an open seat in a plane with open seating.
